Gloria Cortez Gutierrez died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 in Billings. She was 51.

Gloria was born March 7, 1960 in Powell to Guadalupe (Gonzales) and Moises Cortez, Jr.

She attended Powell schools and Northwest College.

Gloria married Victor M. Gutierrez on May 4, 1992 in Aurora, Ill.

She worked as a pharmacy tech. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her beloved family. Gloria also was a sports fanatic.

Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Moises Cortez, Jr. and granddaughter Sophia Emmelia Gutierrez.

She is survived by her husband, Victor; mother, Guadalupe Cortez of Powell; daughters Monica (Edgar) Ramirez and Rebekah Gutierrez, both of Powell; brother Mario (Sandra) Cortez of Sandwich, Ill.; sister Esther (Miguel) Jimenez of Aurora, Ill.; two grandchildren, Natalee and Isabella; nieces Patti Jimenez, Erica Cortez, Jessica Cortez and Dianna Cortez; nephew Daniel Cortez; and great-nephew Noah James Jirges.

A rosary will be recited Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Powell. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7 at  St. Barbara’s.

Memorial donations in honor of Gloria’s life may be sent to Victor M. Gutierrez, 333 S. Jones St. #11, Powell, WY 82435.

    What a total shock. Gloria was always so upbeat and happy. She had great ideas to help with our Veterans of Foreign wars auxillaries. The void she has left will never be filled. My condolances to her family. Thoughts and prayres are will you all
