Edith Delphia “Dee” McCoy died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011. She was 97.

Dee was born on July 15, 1914 to Fred F. and Alma W. Paulson in Blackduck, Minn.

Dee quit school after the seventh grade to help care for her younger brother, who was ill. Her family lived in several locations, including Lovell. She married Jack Dover from Lovell in 1933, and they had three children. They lived in Superior, Colo., at the time of Jack’s death.

After Jack’s death, she married Edwin “Eddie” McCoy of Powell in 2000. They enjoyed seven years together.

Dee was a delightful person who encouraged and blessed everyone she came into contact with. She had a sweet smile and a positive, joyful spirit. She loved family and friends and was a hard worker, retiring at age 70 from her cleaning business in Colorado. She taught Sunday school for many years and worked with Brownies and Girl Scouts while her children were growing up. She loved life, but was not afraid to die.

She resided on Lane 9 1/2 in Powell with Jeff and Tina McCoy until a recent stay at the Powell Valley Care Center, where she left this world and went to be with her Lord. Many loving hearts met her needs from the care center and Powell Valley Hospice prior to her death. Many family members surrounded her in her last hours.

Dee is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Bob) Kelley of Encampment; stepsons Keith (Donna) McCoy of Tyler, Texas, Bart McCoy of Longview, Texas, and Jeff (Tina) McCoy of Powell; former son-in-law Ben (Mary Jane) Klepac of Berthod, Colo.; stepsister JoAnn Smith; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Dorothy Lashur and June Kelly; brother Lowell Paulson; husband Jack Dover; son Jim Dover; daughter Sandy Dover Kelpac; husband Eddie McCoy; and step-daughter-in-law Elaine McCoy.

Services were held Saturday, Dec. 2 at First Baptist Church in Powell, and interment followed at Crown Hill Cemetery.
