Andrew Leroy Sonesen, of Powell, a former Worland resident, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, June 22, 2011.  He was 44.

Andrew was born in Thermopolis on Sept. 26, 1966 to Seth “Sandy” Andrew and LaDonna Kay (Short) Sonesen. 

He married Elizabeth Tjepkes on March 23, 1985 in Worland. To this union were born three daughters: Stashia, Ariana and Delfina. The couple later divorced.

He married Charlean Daniels on Dec. 23, 2005 in Thermopolis. The couple made their home in the Big Horn Basin and was residing in Powell at the time of his death.

Andy spent most of his life in Worland. He loved his family and spending time with them. They were the most important thing in his life. Andy was always there for everyone in the family and helped anyone that he could. He was a great, hardworking man and a friend to everyone.

He enjoyed working on vehicles, being in the outdoors, camping and fishing as well as working in the yard and gardening.

Andy was preceded in death by his father, Seth “Sandy” Sorensen; his uncle, Bobby Joe Sonesen and his great-niece, Kelsee Warrick-Ford.

He is survived by his wife, Charlean of Powell; his mother, Kay Sonesen of Worland; three daughters: Stashia (Craig) Ruffing of Powell, Ariana Sonesen of Powell, Delfina Sonesen of Worland; two stepsons: Don Daniels of Newcastle, and Robbie Daniels of Powell; two grandsons: Logan and Damien Ruffing of Powell;  three brothers: Brian Sonesen of Thermopolis, Jerry Sonesen of Gillette, and Tim Sonesen of Worland; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services for Andy were held Monday, June 27, at the Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Susan Legler from Living Hope Community Church in Powell officiating.
