Michael Duard Dustin died Sunday, May 8. He was 54.

Michael was born April 25, 1957 to Frank and Jeri Dustin. He attended Powell schools and Northwest College.

Mike found his calling working with handicapped adults at Nowcap Services in Cody. These amazing clients became his extended family.

Mike loved spending time with his family and friends. He attended First Presbyterian Church in Cody. Mike was on the Powell Recreation Board, Powell Little League Board and past Exalted Ruler at the Powell Elks.

He was an avid sports fan. He spent many summers coaching baseball and playing softball. But most of all, Mike loved cheering on his World Champion Green Bay Packers.

Mike married Gayle Miller on Aug. 4, 1979 in Cody. They had two beautiful daughters, Rebecca and Danielle.

Michael was a man who has loved people, and people loved him back.

He was a loving son, father, husband and friend. Michael wanted “to be remembered as being a warm and caring person who loved his family and friends and who also cared for those less fortunate than myself.”

He was a man with laughter who has left an indelible mark on many. Michael will be missed and cherished forever in his loved ones’ hearts.

Mike is survived by his wife and two daughters; his parents, Harold and Jeri Farmer Underwood; his sister, Kelly (George) Ward and his sister Donna Sue. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Delores Miller; brother-in-law Gary Miller; sisters- and brother-in-law, Kris and Tim Nieters, and Pam Honstain (Ron); his aunt Donna (Norm) Meidinger; and many special nieces and nephews who will miss their Uncle Mike.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents: Duard and Gretna Farmer, Dora Underwood and Edith Dustin; his brother-in-law and nephew, Bruce and Josh Honstain; father-in-law Ken Miller; his uncle and aunt Harold and Francie Farmer; and his great niece, Brooke Todd.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 26 at 6 p.m. at the Powell Elks Club.

Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
