Willis ‘Will’ Kinsey

Former Cody resident Willis “Will” Kinsey, 81, died March 3, 2010, at Powell Valley Care Center.

Will was born Oct. 6, 1928, in Ligonier Township, Penn., the son of Glenn Kinsey and Grace (Dillon) Kinsey.

He obtained a bachelor’s of science degree from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania.

Will married Joanne Hauger on Jan. 7, 1949, in Ligonier, and the couple lived in western and central Pennsylvania until moving to Wyoming in 1979.

He was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard and the Navy reserves, and he retired after serving as the superintendent of Buffalo Bill State Park.

Will was a member of Cody Bible Church, and he enjoyed big game hunting, mountain trout fishing, horseback riding, acrylic painting and music appreciation.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne; son Kurt Kinsey; daughters Linda Brown (Rob), Marsha Neubert (Clay), and Sandy Funkhouser (Lynn); a brother, Harold Kinsey (Daneen); sisters Margie Laughrey and Janie Gearhart (Harold); and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. at Saturday, March 6, at Thompson Funeral Home, followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery in Cody.
