Maxine Meyer, 64, died Feb. 21, 2010, at her home in Basin.

Maxine was born Oct. 30, 1945, in Centerville, Iowa to William Melvin Denniston and Rosie Lavera (Robinson) Denniston.

She married Joe Meyer in Cody on Nov. 20, 1964, and they were married for 45. They lived in Wyoming for their entire married life, and they moved to Basin in 1990.

She was a loving wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, and she always helped out whenever someone needed a helping hand. Over the years she and her husband gave many people a place to stay when they needed it.

Maxine took good care of her loved ones, whether it was her home cooking or just a shoulder to cry on.

She is survived by her husband, Joe, of Basin; sisters Ruby Nelson of Worland, and Charlotte Hall of Manderson; brothers Richard Denniston of Tacoma, Wash., and Ronald Denniston of Manderson; five children, Melvin Meyer of Greybull, Lavera Grisham of Basin, Rose Bonilla of Rawlins, Mark Meyer of Basin, and Joanna Schuyler of Powell; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law; and two daughters-in-law.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Lee Denniston and William Denniston; and her sister Jessie Krei.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 14, at the Assembly of God Church in Lovell at 2p.m. Per Maxine’s wishes, attendees should dress casually.
