Wilma Marie Willey, 91, died Jan. 23, 2010, at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield, Minn.

She was born June 29, 1918, in Hay Springs, Neb., to Albert Dewitt Ship and LaDora Edith (Brown) Ship. She attended school in Midwest, Wyo., and later graduated from Cody High School.

Wilma married Fred Anthony Willey in 1937. They lived in various places, including in a tent in Yellowstone National Park near Cub Creek and on the North Fork. They called the Oregon Basin Station 2 home until 1948, when they moved to Elk Basin.

In 1956, Wilma and Fred purchased their home in Elk Basin and moved it to Day Street in Powell, where Wilma lived until 2003 when she moved to Northfield to be near her son and his family.

Wilma was a homemaker and was a member of the Southern Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and knitting in her spare time.Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1985, and her parents.

She is survived by her sons Carroll Wayne Willey (Karen) of Webster, Minn., and Russell Eugene Willey of Glendale, Ariz.; daughter Jeanette Irene Chapman (Dan) of Midwest City, Okla.; brother-in-law Robert Eugene Ship of California; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10: 30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Southern Baptist Church with Billy Greaham officiating. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
