Life-long Powell resident Patricia L. Cothren, 70, died Aug. 21.

She was born May 21, 1939 in Powell, one of five children born to Mae and Bill Eaton. Patty married E.J. Cothren, and spent her life in Powell, raising her three children and being a home-maker.

Patty enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, yard sales and reading books. She was an avid collector, and she always enjoyed a good joke.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Kleiner, who lived with Patty and cared for her in the last years of her life. She is also survived by her two sons, Mark Kleiner (Amber) of Powell and Tom Kleiner of Lovell; three granddaughters, Shaundra Schmid (Brian), Stormy Heinrich (Frank), and Latishia Roberts; a grandson, Billey Kleiner; three step-granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, William “Bill” Eaton and Dan Eaton, both of Powell; and several nieces and nephews.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband, E.J., in 1997; her parents; and her sisters, Rose Cannon and Virginia Cheney.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 28 at 10 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.
