Beverly L. Deming

Beverly L. Deming, 68, died Aug. 5 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Powell.

She was born Sept. 10, 1940 in Illinois, the eldest child of Rachel and Melvin Pridemore. On April 15, 1957 she married David Whitman of Terra Haute, Ind. They had seven children. Their son, Jimmy, died as an infant.

Beverly married Billy Freeman of Byron in 1973. A daughter, Jennifer, was born in 1982. Billy preceded her in death in 1983.

Beverly then William Deming of Byron, and he preceded her in death in 2008.

She recently returned to Wyoming to be near her children, Belinda Redder of Powell and David Whitman of Cody.

Bev dedicated her life to caring for her children and family. Her children are eternally grateful for her guidance, love and friendship.

She was an avid bowler most of her adult life. She shared the love of the game with her family, and she bowled up until her illness in 2008. Bev also loved crafting, and she crocheted many afghans for her family over the years. She also enjoyed painting. She also loved for family to come and visit, and she would often cook their favorite meal: homemade noodles and roast. Dinner was always followed by a family game night.

Beverly is survived by seven children, David Whitman (Billie Jo) of Cody, Susan May (Earl) of San Diego, Calif., Robert Whitman of San Diego, Mark Whitman (Desiree) of Wasilla, Alaska, Michael Whitman (Susan) of Galesburg, Ill., Belinda Redder (Bill) of Powell, and Jennifer Freeman of Bloomington, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond Pridemore of Terre Haute, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Billy and William; her parents; a son Jimmy Whitman; and her brothers, Billy Jo and Woody Pridemore. Her first husband, David, died in 1988.
