She was born Jan. 13, 1924 near Foxholm, N.D., the youngest child of Michael and Katherine (Buettner) Fuchs. On June 4, 1946 she married Leonard W. Schaefer at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Foxholm.

Leonard and Edna farmed in the Minot, N.D. area until 1951, when they moved to Wyoming to farm on the Ralston Bench west of Powell. They made many life-long friends while farming there. They retired from farming and moved to town in 1983.

Edna enjoyed walking, going to garage sales with her friends and crocheting. She volunteered for 25 years at the Long Term Care Center, playing bingo with the residents. She was also involved with the various women’s groups at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joys of her life, and she enjoyed watching them participate in their various activities.

Edna is survived by her five children Lynn Schaefer (Marjorie) of Rock Springs, Judi Buckingham (Gary) of Powell, Allan Schaefer of Gillette, Joyce Bales (Tom) of Cody and Keith Schaefer (Brenda) of Powell; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
