Hermon “Tim” Tunnell, age 85, died Sunday, May 10 in Corona, Calif.

Tim was born June 20, 1923, in Grady, N.M., the son of Roxie (Brown) and Thurmon Tunnell.

He served with the military as a military policeman in Panama from 1943 until 1947. In 1948, he returned to the U.S. and married Pauline Argento on Sept. 29, 1948 in Worland. The couple lived briefly in Meeteetse before settling in Powell.

Tim and Pauline had two children, Dale and Karolyn, who both attended Powell schools through 11th grade.

Tim worked for Amoco, a career that took him all over the world. In 1968, when his son, Dale, was a senior, the family moved to Tehran, Iran, where Dale graduated from high school. The family later moved back to Powell, until 1976, when daughter, Karolyn, was a junior. They then relocated to Cairo, Egypt, where Karolyn graduated from high school.  After returning from Egypt they lived for a short time in Evanston and Kemmerer and then returned to Powell when Tim retired. Pauline and Tim lived in Powell until Pauline's death in 2002, at which time Tim moved to California to be near his daughter, Karolyn.

Tim is survived by his children, Dale Lynn Tunnell (Debbie) of Florence, Mont., and daughter Karolyn Lee Tohamy (Tohamy) of Corona, Calif; his sister, Linda Tucker; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, in 2002; his parents and his two brothers, Aaron and Eddie.
