Eric Charles Prior died May 4 at his residence in Powell.

He was born Oct. 3, 1967 in Durango, Colo., the son of Judy E. (Nichols) and Charles L. “Chuck” Prior. At the time of his death, he was employed as a helicopter pilot with E.R.A. Corporation.

Eric married Shauna Lawyer on Jan. 31, 2009 at the Margret Memorial Chapel in Powell. He enjoyed fixing up old vehicles, riding his dirt bike and motorcycles, and he was an excellent cook. He loved all animals, especially his two dogs, Cheyenne and Riley. He is survived by his wife, Shauna; his parents, Judy and Chuck; sister and brother-in-law, Tristen and Eric Mooren, all of Powell, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold Nichols and Chet Prior.

Memorial services will be Friday, May 8 at 10 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Powell. Arrangements are being handled by Thompson Funeral Home and Cremator.

“Eric was many things to many people. Every person I have come across has had nothing but nice things to say about him, mainly that he was very caring and was a very humorous person. To me he was everything: My best friend, my soulmate, the love of my life. I truly believe God made him just for me. I am so proud to have married such a beautiful person, and I carry his name with much pride. I will never forget the love I received from him and will never forget him. He will be greatly missed. He was a beautiful soul, and I will always cherish the time we spent together. Sweet dreams, my love.”
