Roy Parker, 72, died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family on Saturday, April 4 at North Big Horn Hospital.

He was born in Cowley, a son of Claude Vivian Parker and Bertha Mae Gifford. He grew up in the Cowley area, and attended the Cowley Schools and graduated in 1956.  On Sept. 28, 1956 he married Katherine ErLinda Roybal.

Parker was the former mayor of Cowley and he loved his town, enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, farming and hard work.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; three sons, James LeRoy Parker Jr., Richard Wayne Parker (Toni), and John Lee Parker (Gail), all of Cowley; two brothers, Donald Claude Parker, Ralph Lou Parker of Deaver; and two sisters, Connie May Wostenberg of Worland, and Shirley Ann Vieira of Westport, Mass; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; stepfather, Wesley Brems, brother, Charles Delbert Parker; and niece, Charla Parker.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9 in the Cowley LDS Chapel with burial in the Cowley Cemetery.  Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge of all arrangements. Viewing will be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Haskell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cowley Recreation District in the name of LeRoy Parker.
