Clara Nadine Johnson, 88, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Friday, March 21, at Eastern  Idaho Regional Medical Center.

She was born March 15, 1920 in Byron, Wyo., to Ira Irvin Egan and Edith Loraine Pearson Egan. She attended Byron Elementary School and graduated from Byron High  School. She worked as a dental assistant in Powell.

She married J. Ted Johnson on Nov. 27, 1946 in Billings, Mont. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Oct. 30, 1999. They spent their first years of marriage in Powell, and the next 20 years in the military as J. Ted served in the Army. In 1967 they returned to Wyoming and made their home in Powell. In 2000 they moved to Idaho Falls to be near their daughters. J. Ted preceded her in death on July 7, 2003.

Clara was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as the ward organist and pianist, Relief Society President, and as a Primary Teacher. She enjoyed painting and pencil sketching, was accomplished on the piano and organ and composed music, and loved being a homemaker.

She is survived by daughters Nancy Mignon (Helmut) Worle and Linda Kay (Larry) Singleton, both of Idaho Falls; sisters Artelle Grace (Donald) Sedwick of Powell and Eileen LaPriel Lenfest, of Las Vegas, Nev.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters, Rosell, Wanda, Ellis and Leah; three brothers, Ira Owen, Lorin and Dave, and one grandson, Jared Thad Worle.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, at Cowley Cemetery,  under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home. Idaho arrangements were under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, of Idaho Falls. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
