Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church for Gary L. McCullough, 62, who died Sunday, Dec. 3 at Powell Valley Care Center.

He was born April 13, 1944, in Powell to George W. McCullough and Helen Virginia (Long) McCullough. He graduated from Powell High School in 1962.

He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967 and later worked as a machinist in California for Parker Hannifin. He was a member of the VFW Club, and he enjoyed fishing, wood carving, playing pool, arrowhead and fossil hunting and being with family and friends.

He is survived by sons, Loni Willett Calicia of Powell and Shawn Willett (Vanessa) of Ogden, Utah; daughters, Marcelle Brady (Leo) of Irvine, Calif., Sheena McCullough and Monique Hemingway (Billy) of San Clemente, Calif.; brother, Meldon (Mary) McCulloough of Powell; and sister, Virginia Loomis (Glen) of West Yellowstone, Mont.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Ray Kenton McCullough; and son, Michael John Lance McCullough.

Many people in Powell knew and loved Gary and referred to him as “Uncle Gary.” He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

For those who wish, memorials may be sent to the VFW Club.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.
