Doris Marjorie Turk, 92, died Saturday, Sept. 9 in the Powell Hospital.

She had been a resident of Rocky Mountain Manor retirement home.

She was born Nov. 5, 1913, in Sheridan, daughter of James Dawson and Annie (Harte) Dawson. She graduated from Johnson County High School in Buffalo in 1931.

She married Berlyn (Bo) Turk in Helena, Mont., on Aug. 31, 1932. She was a bookkeeper for Montana Dakota Utilities Co. and a member of Order of Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary, as well as the Methodist Church.

She enjoyed gardening and took pleasure in volunteering after her retirement from MDU. Her husband died in 1990.

Survivors include two sons, Thad H. Turk (Annette) of Albuquerque, N.M., and James E. Turk (Marlene) of Powell; a sister, Mary Dudley of Portland, Ore.; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Lois Loraine Turk; her parents; and a brother, Richard Dawson.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 at the Sheridan Cemetery, with Rev. Don Derryberry presiding.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
