Funeral services were held in Lovell Aug. 4 for Dennis A. Beech, 62, Cowley, who died Aug. 2.

Burial was in the Byron Cemetery.

He was born in Lovell April 13, 1944, to Herbert (Bert) Beech and Doris Nicholas Beech. He was raised in Kane and went to school in Lovell until he joined the Navy in February of 1962. While in the Navy, he received his GED and worked as a Communications Technician. He was honorably discharged in April, 1965.

On Dec. 30, 1966, he married ValJean Sherrill, and they made their home in Lovell.

While either driving truck or working on ranches, they lived in many places, but eventually settled in Byron to raise their family. In February, 1981, they purchased the old Rasmussen place west of Cowley. Dennis loved to work with cows and tinker on vehicles. He never thought there was a vehicle that he couldn’t make run.

Survivors include his wife ValJean; children Bert (Kara), Clinton (Bethany) of Byron and Sheril Slater (Tim) of Lovell; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Shalin; his sister Betty (Rex) Hubbell of Lovell, brother Art Beech and many nieces and nephews.
