Memorial services will be held at Haskell’s Funeral Home in Lovell Saturday, Dec. 31 at 1 p.m. for Clarence E. Emmett, who died peacefully at his Deaver home Thursday, Dec. 22. He was 81.

He was born May 22, 1914, in Deaver. He was married for 30 years to Helen Burgener of Powell and raised five children.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged a Seaman First Class after service in World War II. After the war, he farmed, then worked in construction which took him to jobs across the United States.

Clarence retired to do what he loved most, raise sheep outside Deaver.

He loved to read, work crossword puzzles, visit with friends and eat See’s Candy. The family will dearly miss him, but is comforted in the knowledge that he will be helping to shepherd the sheep once again.

Survivors include his son, Nathan; daughters Brenda Emmett (Kim), Jennifer Just (Jack), Patricia Emmett and Cheryl Rouse (Scott); five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister Betty Todd (Terry); and brothers Charles Emmett (Lois) and Jerry Emmett (Eve).

For those who wish, memorial donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
