Clarence L. Bond died on Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Washakie Medical Center in Worland.
He was born on March 29, 1928 in Manderson, to Clarence M. and Margert (Tucker) Bond. His family moved to Frannie shortly after and he was raised and went to school there.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 17 in 1945 and was sent to Germany near the end of WWII. He served in the Korean Conflict, was involved in the Berlin Build-up and did two tours in Vietnam. The military was his life and he spent 30 years serving his country and retired as a Master Sergeant (E-8) at Fort Richardson, AK in 1975.
He met and married Lillian W. Holt in Rapid City, SD on May 1, 1949 and spent 56 wonderful years going wherever the Army sent them. Lee had many things he loved dearly, his family, pets, reading and rock hunting. He was also involved in Genealogy where he published his own family news letter entitled “Tails & Trails” for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Jeffery L. Bond.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Winnie Bond of Frannie; one son: Joseph (Debra) Bond of Seward, Alas.; one daughter: Linda Bond of Frannie; one sister: Bonnie Paulley of Casper; grandchildren: Jennifer L. Bond, James L. Bond, Joseph L. Bond, Desiree L. Morley, and Lucinda N. Bond; and five great grandchildren: Dakota, Dalton, Duncan, Kostas, and Kiera.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. In Lee’s words, “Each of you has touched my life in a very special way; I thank God for each of you and count it a privilege to have called you all family and friend.” At his request there will be no services. Cremation has taken place with his ashes to be scattered at a later time. Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
