A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church for Jose Ricardo Rosales of Powell, 67, who died Wednesday, Oct. 19 at Evergreen Care Center in Laurel, Mont.

He was born March 27, 1938, in Mission, Texas. He moved to Powell in 1964 where he began working for the railroad. After leaving the railroad, he worked as a farm hand and later worked for the sugar plant in Lovell until his retirement.

He married Lorenza Limon in October of 1964. They had one son, Jose Rosales Jr., and one daughter, Rebecca.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Lorenza; his son, Jose (Lorelei) Rosales Jr.; and his daughter, Rebecca (Andy) Schmauch; five grandsons: Matthew (Kahla), Tyler, Jose III, Vance and Adrian; and one great-granddaughter, Kyrsten; his sister, Magdalena Bill) Key; a niece, Rosie (Juan) Betancourt; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter.

Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Powell. Cremation has taken place.
