Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Basin for Reynolds Doty Kost, 76, who died early Friday, July 22 at the Powell Valley Hospital.

Officiating at Thursday services will be Rev. Kent Dempsey and Rev. Rick Edwards. Burial will follow at the Mount View Cemetery in Basin with full military graveside rites.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, July 27 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Atwood Family Funeral Chapel in Basin.

He was born June 18, 1929, in Cowley, son of Ned Franklin and Helen Gertrude (Doty) Kost, Sr. He received his schooling in Basin.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the end of World War II from 1946 to 1948 and during the Korean Conflict from September 1950 to January 1952. He was honorably discharged.

On March 26, 1952, he married Thelma Arlene Snyder in Billings, Mont.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and especially enjoyed his great-grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and horses. He family will remember that he always had a smile on his face and a joke for everyone he saw.

He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Powell.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma, of Powell; his son, RJ (Caroline) Kost of Powell; his daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Tom) Hink of Casper, Judith Diane Brown of Powell and Rebecca Lynn (Mike) Holland of Rio Rancho, N.M.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ned F. Kost, Jr. and David (Ardith) Kost, all of Basin; one sister, Judith (Leo) Leuttjohann of Crookston, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established at the Bank of Greybull, 601 Greybull Avenue, Greybull, WY 82426 to go to the Powell Valley Hospice or to a charity of choice.
