Reva Baird Bennion passed away in Powell, Wyoming on Wednesday, November 24, 2004. Reva was born in Cowley, Wyoming on March 25, 1920 to Daniel Cumming Baird and Ona Lucinda Nebel Baird, the third of eight children.

After graduating from Cowley High School she attended the University of Wyoming where she majored in elementary education. Upon completing her education, she served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northeastern States Mission and then returned to Cowley to teach elementary school.

In 1945, while spending the summer with her sister in Georgia, Reva met Wayne Harvey Bennion who was serving in the Army and was stationed at Robbins Field. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 10, 1945. Following their marriage, they lived in Bennion, Utah for a short time and then moved to Cowley where they resided until they moved to Powell in 1995. During this time, six children were born to the Bennions.

Reva, who quit teaching school to raise her children, enjoyed using her talent for teaching in her family and was very committed to teaching her children at an early age. She and Wayne provided a loving and happy environment for their children. Reva always loved being with her family and took personal interest in each child and grandchild as her family grew. Her family was her greatest work and her greatest hobby. She also enjoyed doing beautiful embroidery work, reading and cooking. She was especially known for her excellent homemade bread.

Reva was a devoted wife and mother, a faithful friend and a diligent church member. She has always been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has served willingly in many callings, including ward Young Women President and Relief Society President in both the ward and stake. In 1988 she was again called to serve a mission for the Church, in Bacolad, Philippines for 18 months. This time she and Wayne served together. They found much joy in their service and came to love the people they served.

Reva is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, two brothers, Floyd, and Melvin and by two sisters, Toynette and Marguerite and by a baby daughter.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda and Robert Andros, Sterling, VA, and four sons, John and Margaret Bennion, Billings, MT, Dan and Lynn Bennion, Powell, WY, Doug and Cindy Bennion, Billings, MT, and Mike and Sarah Bennion, Oxford, MI, 36 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Wilma and Dave Fisher, Pocatello, ID, Laura Mae and Gwynn Dickson, Edgewood, WA, and one brother, Robert and Ann Baird, Lovell, WY.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the Cowley LDS chapel. Interment was in the Cowley Cemetery.
