Leroy Renwick Critchfield

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Powell LDS Church for Leroy (Lee) Renwick Critchfield, 69, who died in his sleep after a lengthy illness Friday, Nov. 21 in Powell.

He was born in the village of Blue River, British Columbia, April 10, 1934. He spent most of his youth in Kamloops, B.C.

He attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he met and married his wife, Midge. He completed his education with a degree in finance from BYU and an MBA degree from New York University. He also did post-graduate work at UCLA.

He worked for several years in banking and was a university professor for more than 10 years. He eventually retired from the financial services industry after 26 years, a profession he truly loved.

He and his wife lived in St. George, Utah, for several years before moving to Powell to be near their youngest daughter and their grandchildren.

For over 50 years, he was active in the LDS Church, serving diligently in numerous callings. He and his wife served missions in St. George, Utah, and in northern California. He greatly enjoyed their work at the Billings, Mont., temple.

Survivors include his wife, Midge Critchfield of Powell; and their four children, Deirdre Cozzens and husband Dirk of Powell, David Critchfield and wife Susan, Darcy Critchfield and Dwight Critchfield; and nine grandchildren. His parents and one grandson preceded him in death.
