Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 10 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lovell for John E. Doerr, 87, Powell, who died Thursday, Nov. 6 at the Powell Hospital after a lingering illness.

He was born May 26, 1916, in Lovell to Edward E. and Amelia Roth Doerr. He married Pauline Kober on Dec. 7, 1941, in Lovell.

He devoted many years to farming south of Lovell and selling Farm Bureau Insurance on a part-time basis. He later devoted full-time to the insurance business.

He moved with his family to Powell about 20 years ago. He loved to fish and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline K. Doerr, of Powell; two sons, Thomas J. Doerr of Powell and David A. Doerr and wife Barbara of Pocatello, Idaho; a daughter, Millie A. Town and husband Barrie of Monument, Colo.; five grandchildren, James D. Doerr of Little Chute, Wisc., Jennifer C. Doerr of Galveston, Texas, Cory A. (Bridget) Town of Monument, Colo., Amy Town Carabajal (Nestor) of Atlanta, Ga., and Jessica A. Doerr; and four great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the Lovell Cemetery under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home.
