Word has been received of the July 23 death in Provo, Utah, of former area resident Edwin George Andrews, 66. Death was the result of complications following surgery.

He was born May 4, 1937, in Lovell, son of Edwin France Andrews and Ellene Annetta Johnson. He had lived in Orem, Utah, since 1999.

He graduated from Deaver High School, Northwest Community College in Powell, Brigham Young University and received master's degrees from the University of Utah and Park University.

He was a member of the LDS Church and served a mission to the North Central States Mission, serving in Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois.

He was commissioned an officer in the U.S. Air Force in 1962 where he attained the rank of captain and served for 20 years in communications. He then worked as an education counselor in civil service and retired in 1999.

Survivors include sisters Faye (Richard) Baker of Worland, Helen (Terry) Jacobson of Dewey, Ariz., and Shirley (Harry) Zane of Heber City, Utah; brothers Ervin (Jean) Andrews of Powell and Ralph (Joyce) Andrews of Puyallup, Wash.; 13 nephews and 12 nieces; numerous great-nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, two half brothers and one niece.

Funeral services were held July 28 in Orem, Utah.
