Memorial services were conducted Saturday, July 12 at Garland Community Church for Albert A. Atkinson, who died Wednesday, July 9 at his Powell home. He was 67.

He was born Aug. 23, 1935, the son of Gertie Mae (Blankenship) and Edwin Fredrick Atkinson. He graduated from high school in Hulett.

On Nov. 19, 1969, he married Betty Nordwall in Casper. The couple made their home in Powell.

He served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps and was a chef by trade. He was a member of the Garland Community Church of God, the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the Eagles.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the family home; a son, Boice (Marsha) Atkinson of Belgrade, Mont.; four daughters, Teresa (Mark) Huller of Bridger, Mont., Jody Sanford of Billings, Mont., Patricia (Arlo) Edelman of Bridger and Anita (Curtis) Bray of Troy, Mont.; a sister, Anna (Johnny) Jones of Bell Creek, Mont.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Smith; brothers John Atkinson, Kenneth Atkinson, Lloyd Atkinson, Dick Atkinson, Robert Atkinson and Lionel Atkinson.

Pastor Roger Slack of Garland Community Church officiated at Saturday services.
