Leta Bentley, 82, a former Powell resident, died Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio.
Funeral services and burial will take place in Powell at a later date. She had been a resident of Newark for 12 years.
She was born Oct. 1, 1919, in Kearney, Neb., to the late Perry J. and Rose E. (Hevlin) Wollam. She lived most of her life in Powell, where she was employed as a secretary in the Powell school system.
In 1984, she retired from the Carnation Company in Los Angeles, Calif., after 20 years.
While in Newark, she was active at Zerger Hall Senior Center.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan K. Stevens and husband Richard of Granville, Ohio, Debbie J. Terry and husband Morris of Powell and Carolyn L. Fletcher and husband Thomas of Rexburg, Idaho; a son, Greg A. Bentley of Powell; a brother, Jay Wollam and wife Esther of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Flossie Wollam of Powell; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Douglas Silas Bentley in 1952; a brother, Ray Wollam; sisters Lila Wollam Nunnelly and Neva Wollam Litton; and daughter-in-law Von McNeill Bentley.
