Marguerite Kepler

Marguerite Kepler, 94, a well-known and longtime resident of Laramie, died Aug. 7 at the Laramie Care Center in Laramie.

She was born March 19, 1908, to Ernest Marion Beaver and Juliette Eliza (Hodgkin) Beaver in Holt County, Neb.

In 1918, when Marguerite was 10 years old, the family moved to Deaver. Her parents became prominent leaders in the development of Deaver.

Marguerite was one of three students in the first graduating class of Deaver High School in 1925. She continued her education at the University of Wyoming, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in commercial education in 1929.

Marguerite and Dwight McFarland Kepler were married on June 11, 1931 in Laramie. To this union was born a daughter, Kay Juliana Kepler.

Marguerite made her home in Laramie for 77 years. She was a faithful member of the Methodist Church since 1932.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dwight Kepler, and her brother Chester Wendell Beaver.

Survivors include her daughter Kay Schroeder and husband Max of Boulder, Colo.; grandsons Malcolm Kepler Forward and his wife Suzanne of Minneapolis, Minn., and Kent Masters Forward and his wife Lisa of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Hiram Harold Beaver and his wife Lucille of Deaver; and a sister-in-law, Eleanore Beaver of Cheyenne.
