Marcelle (Mike) Velma Bennion

Funeral services are scheduled Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cody for Marcelle (Mike) Velma Bennion, who died Friday, Sept. 28 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was 78.

She was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Mankato, Kans., to Ray and Velma Schuster. She was raised and educated in Cody.

She married Bill King of Cody in 1940. They later divorced. She worked at the Mountain Bell Telephone Co. in Cody for many years and moved to Lovell where she married Vern Bennion. They had their marriage vows sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple of the LDS Church. She eventually moved to Casper to be with family.

She enjoyed bingo, watching tennis and spending time with her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Loomer of Casper; a son and his wife, Randy and Jody King of Rochester, Mich.; four sisters, Belva Norwood and Norma Roemmich of Cody; Margaret Thompson and husband Ralph of Casper, and Neva Lindley and husband Merrill of Gardena, Calif.; one brother, Philip Schuster and wife Doris of Evanston; 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters and one brother; her husband, Vern Bennion; her ex-husband, Bill King; and two sons, Dwight (Dewey) King and Billy King.
