Ignacia R. (Ena) Flores

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery for Ignacia R. (Ena) Flores, 78, who died at the Powell Hospital Wednesday, Sept. 26.

She was born July 31, 1923, in Hondo, Texas, to Ignacio and Petra (Galan) Rios. She attended school in Texas, and after moving to Powell, she also attended Northwest College.

On Jan. 7, 1978, she and Pedro Flores were married. She was a nurse's assistant at the Powell Nursing Home for 23 years.

A member of the Powell American Legion Auxiliary, she also enjoyed gardening, quilting and crocheting. She loved her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Pedro (Pete) Flores of the family home; son Juan Jose Sandoval, Jr. of Carson City, Nev.; daughters Martha A. Barber and husband Bob of Sterling, Ill., Petra Sandoval of Sterling, Ill., Rita Malone of Powell and Anita Zuniga and husband Manuel of Moorhead, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Victor Rios of Hondo, Texas; and sisters, Sr. Philmenia Rios, S.H. (ret.), Savas Moncada, Sirilida Leyva and Mary Jo Torres and husband Joe Robert, all of Hondo, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Marcos R. Sandoval and Pedro Flores, Jr.; brother Frank Rios; and sisters Frances Dominguez and Felix Gonzales.
