Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. at St. Barbara's Catholic Church for John Kopp, 83, who died Friday, Nov. 24 at West Park Hospital in Cody.

Father Tom Ogg will officiate at services and burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Kopp was born Dec. 7, 1916, to Michail and Frances Kopp in Sheffield, N.D. He had lived in the Cody-Powell area since 1931.

He was employed by Standard Oil Company for many years before starting his own oilfield contracting business. He retired in 1979. He was a member of the American Legion.

He will be remembered as a father and grandfather to all he knew. He was successful at combining two families.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Kopp of Cody; a son, John Eldon Kopp of Thermopolis; a sister, Barbara Kubischta of Dickinson, N.D.; and several extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Anna, in 1956.
