Rennie J. Stahl, 57, died with dignity and grace from cancer on the evening of Dec. 24, 2010, at home with his family by his side.

Rennie was born on Jan. 29, 1953 in Billings. He was one of five children born to Robert and Alice Stahl.

Rennie attended Cody schools and graduated from Cody High School in 1971. He loved playing baseball and was also active in basketball, football and track during his school years.

On Oct. 21, 1971, Rennie married Patty Perry. Rennie and Patty lived in Tucson, Ariz., from 1973 to 1976 and moved back to Powell. 

He worked in the oil fields and was a ditch rider for the Heart Mountain Irrigation District. In 1982, Rennie and Patty divorced. 

Rennie enjoyed life with his family and special friends.

Rennie is survived by his sons, Clay of Cody and Ian of Gillette; brothers, Robert (Kathy) Stahl of Evanston; Glenn Stahl of Butte, Mont.; a sister, Maureen (Ted) Shuler of Powell; sister-in-law, Kathy Stahl; girlfriend, Laurie Herrick; numerous nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Curt Stahl.

According to his wishes, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place. 

Memorial donations can be made to Spirit Mountain Hospice.
