(Feb. 22, 1935 – Oct. 26, 2010)Jerome “Jerry” Martin Storeim of Greybull died at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010. He was 75.

He was born Feb. 22, 1935, in Ortonville, Minn., to Julius and Lulu (Peterson) Storeim. Jerry was raised in and graduated from high school in Ortonville. Jerry served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force from 1956–1960 as an air traffic controller stationed in Japan. While in Japan, Jerry learned how to play fast pitch softball and went on to become one of the best pitchers in the state of Wyoming.

Jerry moved to the Big Horn Basin in 1960 where he attended Northwest Community College in Powell, and was a quarterback for the football team. He married Alberta Wilson on April 14, 1961 at Billings, Mont. To this union were born five children: Marty, Steven, Aaron, Cari, and Nicolle.

Jerry worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Powell, Casper, and Greybull as a depot clerk and retired after working 35 years for the railroad. Jerry participated in many of the community musical productions put on at the Greybull High School Auditorium. His best known role was being Daddy Warbucks in the musical production “Annie.”

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and one brother.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Alberta Storeim of Greybull; his sons, Marty of Worland, Steven (Bridget) of Casper, and Aaron who is currently serving in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan; his daughters, Cari (Doyal) Waterworth of Worland, and Nicolle (Shawn) Trotter of Cody; nine grandchildren, Justin and Ryan Waterworth, Jacob Storeim, Madison, Mayson and Millie Storeim, and Emily, Drew, and Aaron Trotter.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4 at the Atwood Family Chapel, 620 Greybull Avenue, Greybull, with Pastor Tim Trippel officiating.

Immediately following the services, a reception for family and friends will be held at the Elks BPOE Lodge #1431, 622 Greybull Avenue, Greybull.

A memorial fund has been established in Jerry's name at Big Horn Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 471, Greybull, WY 82426. Proceeds will go to the Greybull Arts Council.
