(March 3, 1967 - Oct. 20, 2010)Matthew Loren Vibe died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, in Billings, Mont., surrounded by family following a courageous battle with cancer.

A beloved son and brother, Matthew was born on March 3, 1967, in Glenallen, Alaska, to Paul and Kathleen Vibe, joining his older brother Erik. Matthew's sister, Juliet was born two years later.

Matthew was raised in Bakersfield, Calif. Matt's family moved to Powell in 1995. Matt joined the group at Big Horn Enterprises making new friends and expanding his extended family.

Matt always had a smile and did not know a stranger. He wasn't shy about asking, “Do you go to church?”

There was never any doubt that Matt loved the Lord and he wanted to make sure that everyone else got the same chance. Matt was a longtime member of Trinity Bible Church.

Pastor Don Thomas and wife Mary made sure that Matt was included in the life of the church and their family. He was also very special to Tim and Tonya Feathers and he was brought into their family as well. Church was a very important part of Matt's week; he rarely missed services. His passing leaves a tremendous hole in everyone's heart.

Music was also a very important part of Matt's life — his guitar was usually close by and he was always ready to sing a song. Matt was on loan to us and has returned to the heaven he always talked about.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Paul and Kathleen Vibe; brother and sister-in-law, Erik and Valerie Vibe; sister, Juliet Wardwell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Matthew was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and his very special Aunt Sheila (Proctor).

Services were held Friday, Oct. 22 in Powell. Thompson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
