Rowdy Smallwood

(June 29, 2001 - Oct. 3, 2010)Rowdy Smallwood died at the Children's Hospital in Aurora, Colo., on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010. Rowdy was critically injured in an accident on Sept. 5.

A celebration of life service is planned for all who wish to attend on Friday, Oct. 8 at the First Baptist Church at 15th and Canby in Laramie at 2 p.m. with Pastor Stephen Salmans officiating.

Rowdy was a wonderful, energetic little cowboy, full of life and love. Rowdy touched many hearts and lives in his short nine years.

Rowdy was a third grader at Spring Creek Elementary School. He was a member of the Laramie Outlaw Hockey Team, the Smoking Guns 4-H club, and Wyoming Junior Rodeo Association.

Rowdy loved the outdoors, four-wheeling on his quad, taking care of and riding his horses, Reggie and Apache, as well as caring for and training his special 4-H goat Sylvester.

Rowdy enjoyed playing organized T-ball, flag football, hockey, motocross racing and, most recently, began riding horses and attending, placing, and winning various rodeo events across the state.

Rowdy is survived by his mother and father, Stacey and Jason Smallwood of Laramie; grandparents Floyd and Judy Smallwood of Cody; Bill and Shirley McGary of Laramie; Jim and Laurie Streeper of Grover Beach, Calif.; Ken and Glenda Hahn of Cody; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and loving family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Rowdy Smallwood Benefit Fund in care of the First Interstate Bank, 221 Ivinson Avenue, Laramie, WY. 82070. (Contact Bonnie Miller at 307-721-4600.)
