Dana Delta Brown

(Nov. 25, 1913 - Sept. 11, 2010)Dana Delta Brown died Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper with her family at her side.

She was 96 years old. Dana was born Nov. 25, 1913 in Earlsborough, Okla. to Mae Mamie and Halford Houston Crowley.

Dana married Flynn Brown in Okema, Okla. and had the first of the couple's four children, Sue, in Oklahoma. Together they lived in numerous towns throughout Kansas, Colorado and Wyoming.

Her life centered on her family and their activities. Dana especially enjoyed watching them play and coach. After her husband died in an oil field accident in Powell, she moved to Denver to be closer to her grandchildren and help her daughter, Sue, operate the Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio.

Dana was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Denver. She resided at the care center in recent years, where she received excellent care and made many friends.

Dana was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Flynn Brown; son, Denny Flynn Brown; and siblings, Lola Leota, Viola Vinita, Pearl Pauline and Hyram Houston; son-in-laws, W. Ray Emmett and Layne Kopischka, and daughter-in-law, Gloria Brown.

Survivors include daughters, Sue Brown (partner Toby Hagar); Judy Kopischka (partner Mark Skiles); and Linda Brown; grandchildren, Phylinda Rapp, Cody Emmett, Brandy Brown, Tracey Sanders, Jennifer Weiland, Shauna Kopischka and Tonya Kopischka Pate; 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were held Sunday, Sept. 12 at Newcomer Chapel in Casper. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Paul's UMC, 1615 Ogden St., Denver, CO 80218 for a stained glass window in memory of Dana.
