(April 30, 1990 - June 23, 2010)Nicolas Gillett, of Powell, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, of injuries from a rodeo accident in Jackson Hole.
Born in Cody on April 30, 1990, to Jeri Gillett, Nicolas was a Cody High School graduate. He attended Powell High School and Powell Middle School.
He was a cowboy through and through. He loved what he did and died doing what he loved.
Nicolas loved his mother and cherished their time together. He was an avid rodeo competitor, and as he would say, he was “living the dream!”
His loves were his mother, Jeri; his brother, Andy; his sister, Ashley; his dog; Kylie; and rodeo, friends, the outdoors, pick-up trucks and, of course, his Cadillac.
Nicolas loved life and always said “work is overrated.”
Nicolas is survived by his mother, Jeri; sister Ashley; brother Andy; grandparents Don and Billie Gillett; uncles David Gillett, Gary Gillett and Donnie Gillett; and aunts Debbie Wambeke, Carol McClaren and Judy Bullinger.
A memorial service was held on Monday at the Cody Stampede Rodeo Grounds. Donations can be made to the Nicolas Gillett Memorial Fund at Bank of the West.
