(Nov. 11, 1934 - June 10, 2010)Dorothy A. Blount Friez, 75, died Thursday morning, June 10, 2010, at the Powell Valley Care Center of natural causes.
She was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Ray, N.D., the daughter of Roy H. and Hannah (Hale) Frounfelter.
Dorothy met her first husband, Ken Blount, at Powers Lake, N.D., and they were married on Oct. 5, 1952, in Miles City, Mont. They resided in Powell for 20 years, and they had four children together. Dorothy later met Larry Friez of Shepherd, Mont. They were married in Powell on July 15, 2000. They lived in Shepherd for ten years.
Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she'll be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Friez, of Shepherd; two sons, Ernest Blount of Cody and Kenneth Blount of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Cindy Gillett of Powell and Kathy Steinmetz of Cheyenne; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her four brothers and two sisters; her first husband, Ken Blount; and two granddaughters, Trisha Broadway and Melissa Gillett.
Services were held at Thompson Funeral Home on June 13. Burial will be on Tuesday, June 15, at 9 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery.
