(Aug. 17, 1926 - March 22, 2006) Powell resident Edna Mae Sage, 79, died Wednesday, March 22 at Littleton Adventist Hospital in Littleton, Colo from complications of pneumonia. She died surrounded by her loving family.Funeral services are scheduled Saturday, March 25 at 2 p.m. at Union Presbyterian Church. The Rev. David Hunter will officiate at services and burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Thompson Funeral Home from 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.She was born Aug. 17, 1926, in Middletown, Ill., to Harold Hamman and Effie Mae (Thompkins) Hamman. She completed her early schooling at a one-room schoolhouse near the family farm. She graduated from Lincoln High School where the family had moved following the death of her mother to breast cancer when Edna Mae was 16. Upon graduation, she moved to Arizona where she met the love of her life, Bob Sage, on a blind date. He was a soldier returning to his Army base in Arizona following action in World War II. After his discharge, Bob and Edna Mae were married on Oct. 18, 1945, and eventually he brought her back to his home in Wyoming.She was a devoted mother to her three daughters, Sandra, Donna and Nancy. She loved to cook and sew for her family. Many of her happiest memories were the dinners she cooked for her children and their families. She also loved camping and fishing. In their later years, she and Bob would take their camper south and spend winters in Arizona. She was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and served as a deacon.Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Adams of Littleton, Colo., and Nancy Forshee (Frank) of Powell; grandsons David Adams (JoAnne) of Grand Junction, Colo., Stephen Adams (Noni) of Casper, Beau Nelson of Sheridan, Nate Forshee of Ten Sleep and Misty Bolker of Hyattville; great-grandchildren Renee, Leslye and A.J. Adams, Stacie and Sierra Adams and Caden and Wyatt Bolker; her brother-in-law, Al Fields, and nuymerous nieces and nephews. She was expecting her first great-great grandchild in September.
