Alice Louise Brown passed away on the morning of Jan. 7, 2018, at the Powell Valley Care Center. She was 92.

She leaves behind her son, David, and his wife Lynda; son-in-law Wayne Fowlie; granddaughters Tamara and Carli Brown, Rana Fowlie and Eve Leibold and her husband Oliver; and great-grandchildren Marcus and Thomas Leibold.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, James Brown and daughter Robin Fowlie.

Alice was born in 1925 in Youngstown, Ohio, where she met James Bergen Brown. They were married in 1947 and moved to California shortly afterward. Jim and Alice had two children, Robin and David.

They were married for 53 years before Jim’s passing, and Alice moved to Powell in 2001. Alice was a life-long member of Beta Sigma Phi and was very proud of her Yellow Rose award. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church of Powell and made many friends during her years here.

Alice was always cheerful, and she often asked the staff at the Powell Valley Care Center and The Heartland to “just sit down and take a break.” Alice’s favorite line was “it is so good to see you.”
