Donald Leroy Adams, 73, died late in the evening on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, after a three-month battle with cancer. Don was surrounded by his family.   

He was born in Casper March 19, 1944, son of Peggy Adams (Smith), and the late C. F. Adams.

Don graduated from Powell High School, and he excelled in football, basketball and track. He was heavily recruited by numerous colleges, but he was a Cowboy at heart and went on to play for the University of Wyoming. 

Don spent the first part of his working life in the oil fields throughout the country, later in life he ran a party rental business and helped in his wife’s flower store in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Don loved his boat, and spending time at Lake Powell with his friends and family. Don touched many lives throughout his time here. His inspiring presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.

Besides his mother, Don is survived by his brother Jack Adams of Casper; his son Mike Adams and daughter Tonya Padilla, both of Fort Collins, Colorado; his stepson Brian Kilgore and stepdaughter Karen Kilgore of Grand Junction, Colorado; two nephews; and his six grandchildren, and eight step-grandchildren. 

Don was preceded in death by his wife Gaye Adams of Grand Junction.
