William ‘Bill’ Eaton

William “Bill” Eaton died peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at his home in Powell. He was 80.

He was born on March 8, 1937, in Powell, to William and Mae Eaton.

Bill served in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy.  Later, he met the love of his life, Sandi (Krei) Eaton, at a dance. They were married on July 11, 1959, at the Methodist Church in Worland. Together, they raised two children, Jodi and Shelly. He and Sandi were the image of ‘true love’ and enjoyed their life together until Sandi died in March 2003. Bill loved spending quality time with his family and friends and had many hobbies.

Bill was not only a son, brother, husband, father and grandfather ... he was also a musician. He played in many bands throughout his life and had opened for his idol, Johnny Cash. He was a songwriter and told many stories through his lyrics. Most recently, he was part of The Del Cannon Band. He was proud of his achievements in music. Bill released three CDs that were sold in local businesses. His other hobbies included playing pool, gambling and telling jokes.

Bill is survived by his daughters Jodi Firnekas (Scott) and Shelly Amos; grandchildren Miranda Bruins (Kaitlyn), Mikayla Norman, JaeLee Norman, Kaitlynn Norman and William Amos; his great-grandchildren AshLyn Hecht, Odessa Thull and Emersyn Bruins; his brother Danny Eaton; and his best friend and brother-in-law Del Cannon, along with numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandi Eaton; his parents, William and Mae; his siblings, Patricia, Virginia, Rosie; his grandson, Matthew; and other loved ones.

A celebration of life will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 30, at Glad Tidings Church followed by a graveside service at noon.
