Wesley James “Wes” Thring died June 6, 2017, with the same quiet grace he exhibited throughout his life.

Born on July 9, 1921, in Coronation, Alberta, Canada, he was raised on a homestead in the great prairie. Wes joined the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II where he was stationed in Toronto, Ontario. There he met Willa Evans, and they were married in 1945.

Following the war, he accepted a position as a branch manager with the Bank of Toronto in a small Saskatchewan community. They were blessed with a daughter, Willajean, and a son, Ronald.

In 1948, he moved his family to Cody, where he resided for 69 years. He and Willa were proud to become naturalized U.S. citizens in the early 1950s. His career continued in Cody with Shoshone National Bank and then in conjunction with the bank, he became the managing partner and later the owner of the R.W. Allen Insurance Company. He dedicated a lifetime of service to his beloved community with multiple organizations.

His exemplary traits of honesty, kindness and integrity were complimented by his keen sense of humor.

Following the passing of his beloved wife Willa, Wes later married Reverend Mary Barbee and with his new blended/extended family, they embarked on an eventful adventure of travel and joyful times together.

Wes is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter Willajean H. Wilson (Larry) Scottsdale, Arizona; Ron W. Thring (Barbara) Venice, Florida; grandchildren Jennifer McGee, Denver; Scott H. Thring and Trevor R. Thring, Denver; Wes’ new blended family includes children Mark Barbee, Cody; Mike Barbee (Amy) Tucson, Arizona; Midge Schedlbauer (Rick) Lone Tree, Colorado; Eric Barbee (Katie) Helena, Montana; grandchildren Alex, and Sami Barbee, Josh and Mary Barbee, Eli and Maddy Barbee.
