Zelda Jones Moore, 103, died at Spirit Mountain Hospice in Cody on Monday, May 8, 2017.

She was born Jan. 26, 1914, in Byron, to Oscar Seth Jones and Estella Johnson Jones, the fourth child of nine siblings. She was the last one of all of the siblings to pass away, having lived a long and wonderfully joyful life.

Zelda grew up in Byron. She worked at the bean mill in Powell and for various families, including Lloyd and Louise Taggart, helping with the children and doing odd jobs around the homes. This provided her with enough money to help buy a home for her own family when that time came.

She met Louis E. Moore at a dance and they married April 4, 1936. They were the parents of four children: Seth Louis, Molly Renee, Doran Jody and Wendy Kolleen.

Zelda was an excellent seamstress, loved to cook, and was a special mother and grandmother. She was involved in sewing clubs, extension clubs, community concert ticket sales and Latter-day Saint couples missions. She served many jobs in the church, including primary teacher and Relief Society counselor and teacher. In the last years of her life she made dozens of winter hats for children in need and all of the grandchildren. She was especially known for and well-loved for her humor and wit.

She and Louis had been able to travel far and wide to Spain, Morocco, England and Hawaii. They also loved to take their camper and drive through the states to stay in Arizona for the winters.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Renee and Walter Hibbert; son and daughter-in-law Doran Jody and Silvia Moore, and Wendy’s sons Tim Eagler and Tylor Waters; 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Zelda died with peace of mind, heart and soul. She contributed to the lives of others with her laughter and love, for which she will always be remembered.

Funeral services will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Wyoming Avenue in Cody on Friday, May 12, at 2 p.m.
