It is with deep sadness in our hearts that we announce that Zachary Scott Hackenberg died on Jan. 22, 2017, at St. Vincent’s Healthcare in Billings.

Zach was born on Nov. 8, 1980, in Denver, Colorado. He was raised in Clark by his parents Kirk and Carol Harshman.

Zach married Brenda Loyning on Aug. 2, 2000, in Powell.

Zach loved to hunt, fish, snowboard, go camping and spend time with his many friends and family. Zach had a heart of gold and was a very caring soul. Zach will be remembered by his family for his contagious smile, witty jokes, his hard work ethic, his random acts of kindness. He was always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Zach is survived by his wife Brenda Hackenberg (Loyning) of Powell; his four children Reece Hackenberg, Maddisson Hackenberg, Peiton Hackenberg and Phoenix Hackenberg; his parents Kirk and Carol Harshman of Clark; brother Curt Harshman (Lisa Harshman) of Powell; sister Carei Smith (Travis Smith) of Clark; sister Jacki Katzenmeyer of Clarksville, Tennessee; and many countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his sister Crystal Harshman and his grandparents Russell and Creda Hackenberg.

Funeral services are planned for Saturday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. at the New Life Church in Powell. A celebration of Zach’s life will follow the services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, please send cards or condolences to Brenda Hackenberg & family at 411 Madison Street in Powell, WY  82435. The Zach Hackenberg Family Memorial Fund has been set up for Brenda and her children at Sunlight Federal Credit Union in Powell for anyone wishing to make monetary donations.
