Gwen Cole, 88, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2017.

She was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Lyman, Wyoming. She married Daniel O. Cole on July 11, 1949, in Cedar City, Utah. Together they had three daughters: Debbie, Millie and Nancy.

They traveled in Utah, Washington, and Oregon, where Dan was a heavy equipment operator doing road construction. They eventually settled in an oil field camp north of Powder River where Dan worked as a pumper until he retired in 1986.

Gwen and Dan enjoyed a long life together. Family was very important to Gwen and she was greatly loved by all her family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Cole, mother and stepfather Theone (Ernie) White, and brother Clyde Smith.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Butch) Francis of Casper; Millie (Keith) Robinett of Powder River; Nancy (Clair) Bennion of Powell; six grandchildren, Darcie Robinett (Pat) Holscher, JD Francis, Chris (Theresa) Robinett, Dan Robinett, Curt (Lizzy) Bennion, Cole Bennion (fiance Amanda Allred); two great-grandchildren, Marcus Holscher and Alexis Holscher; and brother Jay (Nancy) Smith of St. Regis, Montana.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 at the Church of Jesus Christ  of Latter-day Saints on Avenue E in Powell. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 27 at Natrona Memorial Gardens in Casper. Thompson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
