Ernie Reissig of Powell died Oct. 31, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Ministries in Billings. He was 91.

Ernie was born Jan. 16, 1925, in Russell, Kansas, to George Reissig and Christine Dumler Reissig. He attended high school in Russell, and later attended college at Fort Hays State University.

Ernie married Ruth Lee (Monahan) Reissig on Feb. 20, 1953, in Russell. He was a purchasing agent for National Parks Services. The couple lived in Russell, as well as Yellowstone Park, Montrose, Colorado, Glacier National Park, Denver, Santa Fe, Billings, and Powell.

Ernie was a Army veteran, and recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Lutheran church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Lee (Monahan) Reissig.

He is survived by his daughters Michael (Ed) Roller and Mervis Reissig, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Thompson Funeral Home with Clyde Seifert officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
