DeAnn Baily, 61, died at her home in Cody with her family by her side on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, after a valiant battle with cancer. Her husband of 40 years, Richard Baily said, “She received a higher calling.”

DeAnn was born in Ogden, Utah, on June 12, 1955, to Leroy Morgan and Barbara Jorgensen. She attended Cody High School.

She married Richard Baily on Nov. 3, 1979.     

DeAnn was a homemaker, beloved mother and a loyal friend. She loved to sew, and she found great joy in making special gifts for her friends and family. 

Cooking was one of her passions and her hospitality was well known in the community. Her meals were legendary and no one went hungry at DeAnn’s house. She always put family and friends first on her lifetime agenda.

DeAnn treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing on the family boat in the summertime. In her younger years, she was an avid member of the local bowling league.

She was preceded in death by her father Leroy and her brother Jay. 

DeAnn is survived by her mother Barbara Jorgenson of Ogden; sisters Carrie Short of St. George, Utah, Donette Freeland of Clinton, Utah, Ronda Jones of Willard, Utah; brother Kirk Morgan of Cody; daughter Jessica Marie Baily; sons Justin and Joshua Baily, all of Cody; her grandsons Aiden and Dante Baily and her granddaughters Briley Baily and Laney Rose Hyatt.

A celebration of DeAnn’s life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Elks’ Lodge, 1201 Beck Ave. in Cody.
