Rolando ‘Ron’ Rios

Rolando “Ron” Rios, 60, of Powell, died Sept. 11, 2016, at Spirit Mountain Hospice House in Cody surrounded by his loving family. Cremation has taken place, and private family memorial services were held on Sept. 14.

Ron was born Aug. 13, 1956, in McAllen, Texas, to Raul Rios and Miinerva G. Rios. He spent most of his years in Powell. While attending Powell High School, he worked at Powell Lumber Company.

After graduation from Powell High School in May 1976, he later went to work for Aldrich Lumber Company for 30 years.

On July 7, 2001, Ron married the love of his life, Robin Marie Fransway, and they made their home in Cody.

Ron dearly loved his family and loved going to all family gatherings. He was always interested in what was going on in everyone’s lives. His loved ones will all miss him very much.

He loved all of his nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren, Isaac and McKenna Fransway, and watching them grow up.

He was a member of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church and the Eagles Lodge in Powell and Cody. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Green Bay Packer games on Sundays with his family and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; wife Robin Marie, and brother Raul Rios Jr.

He is survived by his sisters Velma (Dennis) Stingley of Powell and Arminta Garcia-Rios of San Antonio, Texas; brothers Ramiro Rios and Juan B. Rios, both of Powell, and stepdaughter Brittany Fransway; nieces Sylvia, Crystal, Amanda and nephews Shawn, Galen, Jonathan, Josh, Juan De Dios, Freddie, and RJ; and 15 great-nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers were his brothers Juan B. Rios and Ramiro Rios.

Private family memorial services were held Sept. 14 with burial of ashes at Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell. A reception honoring Ron was held at his home following burial.
