Henry (Hank) Wiegmann, 93, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at West Park Hospital in Cody with his family at his side.

Hank was born on May 30, 1923, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Claus and Kate Wiegmann. He was the ninth of 12 children.

Growing up on a farm in Minnesota, he loved raising animals and growing crops. His favorite always was horses.

He married Lucille Lunder and together they raised six children, celebrating their 69th anniversary this past March. In early 1960 Hank and Lucille left the farm and moved to Minneapolis, where he was employed at National Butter for many years.

After going on vacation out west, they camped along the way and a highlight was a stop in Cody.  He loved the area and after several trips he was offered the chance to manage the Gateway Motel and Campground in Cody. He and Lucille, with help from relatives now and then, had a successful business for many years.

In 1992, they retired and moved outside of Cody, living there until his death.

Hank loved his family and friends and they loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Jeffrey; siblings Ben, Dick, Clarence, Cora, Gladys, Hazel, Bernice, Ester and infant brother and sister.

He is survived by his wife Lucille; daughters Susan (Rodney) Kessler of Cody, Patricia (Tom) Jaeger of Minneapolis, and Nancy (Scott) Jarvis of Cody; sons Chuck of Minneapolis and John of Cody; and sister Betty Kroona of Spicer, Minnesota. He was blessed with nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cody.

Ballard Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

A celebration of life will be at a later date in Minnesota.
